Attorney James M. Roane, III

James M. Roane III is the owner and lead attorney of Roane Law in Greensboro, NC, a successful law firm representing plaintiffs in legal proceedings involving serious motor vehicle and personal injury accidents as well as nursing home neglect and abuse cases. He has been practicing in North Carolina since 1999, and is a member of the North Carolina Bar Association, the North Carolina Advocates for Justice, Multi-Million Dollar Advocates Forum. Meranda E. Barrow, Paralegal


Meranda E. Barrow was raised in Stokesdale, North Carolina. She attended the University of North Carolina at Greensboro where she graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in 2003. Meranda received her certification as a North Carolina State Bar Certified Paralegal in 2007.

Kerri Nicks, Paralegal


Kerri Nicks was raised in Trinity, North Carolina. She attended Trinity High School and graduated from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro in 1996. Kerri has worked as a paralegal since 1996 focusing on litigation and workers' compensation. Kerri came to work at Roane Law in January 2009.

Jim Roane, Investigator


Jim Roane is the private investigator for Roane Law. His role includes interviewing witnesses, taking scene photographs and assisting in accident investigations. Jim also just enjoys meeting clients here in the office, helping them with their cases and making them feel at home. Some of our clients still come back to see him even after their case is over.

Christopher J. Woodyard, Attorney


Christopher J. Woodyard is a Litigation Attorney at Roane Law in Greensboro, North Carolina. The firm represents plaintiffs injured in nursing home neglect and abuse cases, serious motor vehicle collisions, and other incidents resulting in personal injury. Chris has been a licensed North Carolina attorney since 2006. During his legal career, he has successfully tried jury trials to verdict in both North Carolina Superior and District courts. Prior to joining Roane Law, Chris was a law professor in Charlotte, North Carolina, teaching primarily Tort Law and Criminal Law & Procedure.

Kara F. McIvor, Attorney


Kara F. McIvor is an attorney and Workers’ Compensation Practice Group Leader at Roane Law in Greensboro, North Carolina. She has been licensed to practice law in North Carolina since 1998. Kara’s dedication to her practice area and clients is evident in the honors / distinctions she holds. Kara is a Board Certified Specialist in North Carolina Workers’ Compensation Law. Only a small percentage of workers’ compensation attorneys in North Carolina are granted this certification by the North Carolina Board of Legal Specialization. Additionally, Kara holds an AV rating from Martindale-Hubbell*, the highest peer review rating available. She has also been named a Top 25 North Carolina Workers’ Compensation attorney by the National Trial Lawyers’ Workers’ Compensation Trial Lawyers Association.

Shannon W. McGlocklin, Paralegal


Shannon McGlocklin was raised in Winston-Salem, N.C. She obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree and later a Masters in Elementary Education degree at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. Shortly after graduating from college in 2001, Shannon began her career in the legal field while also pursuing her master’s degree. Her desire to help injured people in our community continued to grow and she found herself back in the legal profession in 2006 after earning a master’s degree.

For over sixteen years, Shannon has worked in the legal arena with a focus on assisting injured individuals with Workers’ Compensation claims. She has a genuine passion for helping clients get the benefits they are rightfully entitled to.
